Mistletoe Lane in Redding was closed for several hours Saturday night after a DUI crash that sheered a power pole in half.

According to the Redding Police Department, officers were dispatched around 8:43 p.m. to the area of Mistletoe Lane and Shasta Pines Way for a single vehicle crash.

Officials said a 2013 Kia Optima was reportedly on its roof and the only person in the vehicle was trapped.

Prior to the officer's arrival, the driver, identified as Christian Serratos, 21, of Redding, was removed from the vehicle by witnesses.

Officials said Serratos suffered scrapes and abrasions and was transported to Mercy Medical Center for treatment. Officials added it appears he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

During the preliminary investigation, officers determined Serratos was driving westbound on Mistletoe Lane at an unknown speed when his vehicle struck a raised center median near the front of Mistletoe School.

Officials said the vehicle then struck several fences on the north side of the roadway and sheered a power pole in half. Power lines were down in the roadway but residents in the area did not lose power.

Mistletoe Lane was closed for several hours while R.E.U replaced the power pole.

Officers said after leaving the scene they went to the hospital and conducted a DUI investigation. Officials said Serratos admitted to drinking prior to driving and was arrested for driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license.
