Ponderosa Inn owner arrested for sexual battery and other charges
REDDING, Calif. —
The owner of the Ponderosa Inn, in Redding was arrested on multiple charges, Wednesday.
According to the Redding Police Department, on May 29, an alleged victim reported she had been sexually battered and assaulted by the owner of the Ponderosa Inn, Gursahib Sekhon, 39, also known as “Sam”, of Redding.
Police said the alleged victim says she was also threatened with a gun during the encounter, earlier in the month.
At the conclusion of the report, an arrest warrant was issued for Sekhon. The Redding Police Department Neighborhood Policing Unit was contacted, due to previous investigations they have conducted on the Ponderosa Inn and Sekhon, and obtained a search warrant for several locations associated with Sekhon.
According to police, on June 13, the search warrants and arrest warrant were executed at the Ponderosa Inn. Sekhon was booked into the Shasta County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, sexual battery, assault with the intent to commit rape and attempted rape.
