Solo motorcyclist injured in crash near Shasta Dam
CITY OF SHASTA LAKE, Calif. —
Police said the motorcyclist was driving south on Lake Boulevard at an unsafe speed. The driver attempted a curve and lost control of his motorcycle.
The driver was a 56-year-old from Walla Walla, Washington.
A solo motorcyclist was transported to Mercy Medical Center Monday night with major injuries, after crashing in the City of Shasta Lake near Shasta Dam.
The man was driving a 2004 Harley Davidson around 6:00 p.m. southbound on Lake Boulevard, near Kennett Road. Investigators say he crashed, and was reportedly found lying in the road at 6:10 p.m.
Officers with the California Highway Patrol told our Chief Photographer at the scene that alcohol is being investigated as a possible factor in the crash. A beer can was found near the crashed bike, but it's unknown if it's related.
Traffic has been allowed around the scene.
