Vehicle vs. pedestrian in downtown Redding
REDDING, Calif. —
A man is in critical condition at Mercy Medical Center tonight, after being hit by a truck at the intersection of South and California streets, in Redding.
Redding Police say the pedestrian, 61 year-old Michael Deffebach was wearing dark clothing, when he tried to cross the roadway, in front of a truck at 5:30 p.m.
Police say the driver of a Toyota Tacoma, 62 year-old Kathryn Houser was going below the speed limit, westbound on South Street, but was unable to stop before hitting Deffebach.
