REDDING, Calif. - Rebecca Moxley, 28, of Redding, was arrested Wednesday night after allegedly driving under the influence and crashing her vehicle, causing a power outage to surrounding homes and businesses.

Police said Moxley was driving southbound on Hartnell Avenue when her vehicle left the roadway, flipped, and struck two Redding Electric Utility transformers and an electrical box.

Moxley admitted to driving drunk and intentionally driving off the roadway. She received minor injures during the collision and was taken to Shasta Regional Medical Center for medical clearance and was then arrested for DUI.

The collision into the electrical box caused a power outage for multiple homes and businesses in the area. Redding Electric Utility workers responded to the scene to fix the electrical damage and brought a generator to restore power while they completed the repairs.

The Hartnell lift station was also put out of service temporarily.
