Tehama County Animal Care Center is reducing adoption fees for its fourth annual "Home for the Holidays" event December 13 through December 15.
Adoption fees for dogs will be reduced to $25 or less, all kittens will be $10 and all adult cats will be available for free.
All adoptable dogs have been microchipped, started on vaccinations, tested for heartworm and licensed. Adoptable cats have also started their vaccinations and tested negative for feline leukemia.
All spay/neuter fees for animals will also be covered before the animals go home with their new owners.
Each person who adopts an animal will also receive a stocking stuffed with goodies for their new furry friend, provided by P.E.T.S. (Providing Essentials for Tehama Shelter).
The event begins 10 a.m. Thursday, December 13 and will go on for normal shelter hours until 4:30 p.m. on December 15. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Tehama County Animal Care Center is located at 1830 Walnut Street in Red Bluff. More information about the event or animal care in general can be answered by calling the Animal Care Center Manager, Christine McClintock at (530) 527-3439.
“Winter is especially hard on the animals in the shelter, and we want to see them in a warm, loving home before the year ends,” McClintock said. “For that reason, we have reduced our adoption prices to the lowest of the year. We are hoping to find a home for every animal in the shelter during the ‘Home for the Holidays’ event.”
