Cottonwood man turns himself in after allegedly beating sister
COTTONWOOD, Calif. —
Tehama County Sheriff's Deputies arrested a man who turned himself in after allegedly beating his sister.
According to officials, deputies were sent to a home on Starr Road, Cottonwood, after getting the report of a disturbance. Deputies were told that the victim , Candace Guillen, had been in a physical altercation with her brother, Shayne Arais, 43.
When deputies arrived, they were told by Guillen that her brother had kicked and punched her over 40 times. Guillen was taken to an area hospital for injuries to her ribs and arms.
According to Guillen, Arias was wearing heavy duty boots and said he was going to kill her, before he left the area.
Officials said that several hours later Arias called the Sheriff's Office saying he wanted to turn himself in.
Arias was taken into custody without incident.
