LOS MOLINOS, Calif. — Five people including a child were forced to escape their mobile home early Wednesday morning after it caught fire.
Corning Fire says the fire started around 2:00 a.m. off Highway 99 in Los Molinos and spread to two acres of nearby grass.
The mobile home is in the 8300 block of Highway 99 on the same property as an apartment complex.
Cal Fire Captain Gerrad Pasillas says two adults, two elderly people and a child were able to get out.
"They notified each other of the fire...they had some elderly people with them and they got out of the fire. They also had a kid with them, so they helped each other out and got out of the fire," said Capt. Pasillas.
Several residents at the neighboring apartment complex evacuated as a precaution, and the fire was contained within a couple of hours.
