One person injured after plane crash at Lake California Community airport

According to the Lake California Fire Company 2, the single engine, two-seat plane made an emergency crash landing in the field across from the EQ Center just east of Indian Lake.

The pilot has been confirmed to be the only person inside the aircraft at the time of the crash. The pilot sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Mercy Medical Center in an ambulance.

The National Transportation Safety Board is currently conducting an investigation into the accident. The Lake California Fire Company 2 would like to ask that people avoid the crash site during the investigation.

Tehama Cal Fire reported on Tuesday that a plane crashed at the Lake California Community airport around 9:27 a.m.

It is unknown at this time whether the Cessna aircraft was taking off or landing when it crashed at the north end of the airport.

One person has been confirmed on-board the plane at the time of the crash, according to Cal Fire.

The person has been injured, but survived the crash and is out of the aircraft at this time.
