Red Bluff man arrested for assault with a deadly weapon


RED BLUF, Calif. - Early Monday morning, Tehama County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon.

According to officials, the incident took place at 60 Bryon Street in Red Bluff. It was reported that Chancelor Kaufman, 18, of Red Bluff, was threatening Vernon Cary, 19, of Red Bluff with a knife.

When deputies arrived they found Cary with non-life threatening wound to his stomach. Kaufman was not found.

Deputies were able to located Kaufman's vehicle nearby and pulled him over. Kaufman was booked into the Tehama County Jail.
