CORNING, Calif. - A one of a kind creamery is opening in Corning, specializing in sheep milk products.
Haverton Hill Creamery has moved from Petaluma to Corning, and are the only producers of bottled sheep milk in the country.
They're bringing 80 sheep with them.
While they have plans to grow, they pride themselves in being a small family farm; hiring two employees but doing a lot of the work themselves.
They bottle sheep milk, have sheep milk ice cream, sheep butter and sheep feta.
They said the taste isn't bad either.
"It tastes great, we compare it to a whole cow's milk. Nutritional benefits are fantastic with sheep milk. Double the protein, calcium, high in vitamins and minerals. The main selling point of our products are they're great if you're lactose intolerant," Haverton Hill Creamery Co-Owner Missy Adiego said.
She also said their ice cream is low calorie.
Their products will soon be in local markets.
They plan to eventually hold educational tours at their farm and a neighborhood block party in a few weeks, when they're up and running.
