Vigil held for one year anniversary of Rancho Tehama shooting

A vigil was held on Saturday in memory of the Rancho Tehama shooting, which left five people dead as well as the gunman, who was shot and killed by Sheriff's deputies.

About 30 people gathered at Fawn Meadows in Rancho Tehama on Saturday to release balloons into the air, listen to speakers and remember the lives taken by the gunman, Kevin Neal, on November 14 of last year.

"It was the day the community pulled back together," said Robert O'Neill, a Rancho Tehama resident of 24 years.

The vigil was put on by the Rancho Tehama Association.
