Five Humboldt State University student athletes were selected to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Football "All-Academic Team" Wednesday.

Running back Isaiah Malachi Hall, tight end Ryan McCombs, kicker Jose Morales, offensive lineman Clint Schallberger, and quarterback Andrew Tingstad represented the Lumberjacks on the All-Academic team. Hall is a two-time all-academic team selection, while Tingstad led all honorees with a 4.0 GPA.

To qualify for the team, a student athlete must be of sophomore standing or greater, must be in their second season of competition at their current institution and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or greater.

The five Green and Gold representatives joined 39 other GNAC football players to round out the annual All-Academic team.

HSU will host Azusa Pacific Saturday in Redwood Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. and fans are encouraged to arrive early as the senior class will be recognized during a pregame ceremony.
