MENDOCINO COUNTY, Calif. — Following closures due to the Mendocino Complex, Highway 20 is back open to traffic, according to the California Dept. of Transportation (Caltrans).
Acting Deputy District Director for Maintenance and Operations for District 1 Tom Fitzgerald confirmed Wednesday that the highway opened at around 11 a.m.
He said there will be traffic control and areas of flagging while there is still a high volume of utility and other workers in the area. He said all highways involved in the Mendocino Complex need extensive repairs for months to come, but he does not envision the highway closing in the foreseeable future.
