Man arrested in Crescent City after K-9 Kai sniffs out narcotics
A traffic stop prompted the Crescent City Police Department (CCPD) to deploy their famous police dog, Kai, who sniffed out a slew of drugs and sent a man to the jail, according to CCPD.
"Another win thanks to K9 Kai!," CCPD posted to its Facebook page after the drug bust.
According to police, on Feb. 10 at around 3 a.m., a CCPD Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of L street. When K-9 Kai was taken to the scene, he reportedly recovered approximately 9 grams of suspected methamphetamine (that was packaged separately) and $221.
The driver, 36-year-old Nathan Rovier, was ultimately taken into custody and booked for possession of a controlled substance for sale, transportation of a controlled substance for sale and other charges, CCPD said.
