CHP: Motorcyclist sent to hospital after crash on Myrtle Avenue Tuesday

A man was sent to the hospital with minor injuries after crashing his motorcycle into a car on Myrtle Avenue in Eureka just after noon Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Officers said a white sedan was travelling southbound on Myrtle Avenue followed by motorcycle when a person was attempting to cross the street. The driver of the sedan braked suddenly for the pedestrian, and the motorcyclist did not stop in time, crashing into the back of the car on the driver's side, police said.

The motorcyclist was transported by ambulance to the hospital with what police said was a wrist injury. Officers said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in this incident, but that it is still under investigation.
