EPD: Flags flown at half-staff Tuesday after death of retired Sgt. Jim Armstrong
EUREKA, Calif. —
Flags will be flown at half-staff in Eureka until the end of the day Tuesday to honor a retired Eureka police sergeant who unexpectedly died Monday.
James “Jim” Armstrong was a sergeant with the Eureka Police Dept. from 1981 to 2011.
Jim was working for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office as a part-time extra help deputy at the time of his passing and active with the Humboldt Amateur Radio Club.
"The Mayor, Council, and City of Eureka staff extends our deepest condolences to the Armstrong family," the EPD said.
