EPD: Man arrested after evading officers on a bike with a felony warrant and weapon

A man was arrested without incident after he fled from officers with a felony warrant for his arrest and for carrying an unconcealed weapon Monday, according to the Eureka Police Department.

Police were dispatched to a motel at the 1600 block of 4th Street in Eureka for an attempted robbery around 6:30 p.m.

Police arrived at the 1600 block to investigate and attempted to contact a man that fit the description as one of the involved people the anonymous caller who reported the alleged robbery provided, according to the EPD.

The man tried to evade police on his bicycle, according to the EPD. After a short pursuit, police made contact with the man at the foot of T Street and Waterfront Drive.

Police say the man was carrying a double-edged knife and had a felony warrant for his arrest. He was arrested without incident, according to the EPD.
