EPD: 2-car crash involving a City of Eureka truck slows traffic near Costco

EUREKA, Calif. — A two-car crash near the Costco store in Eureka has sent at least one person to the hospital just after 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Wabash Avenue and Koster Street near the Holiday Inn Express and Suites.

A white SUV suffered significant driver-side damage and images from the scene show several driver-side airbags were deployed.

The Eureka Police Department said one person in the car was taken to the hospital but their condition is unknown at this time.

Police also said the other vehicle involved was a City of Eureka truck. The large yellow truck appeared to have damage to its front end, but nobody in the truck was injured.
