HCSO: Man wanted for resisting officers arrested on fresh charges of resisting arrest
EUREKA, Calif. —
A Redway man wanted on multiple felony charges including battery of an emergency responder, was arrested in Eureka Tuesday, according to the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office (HCSO).
On Sept. 11 at about 10:30 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of the 800 block of Eureka Street, in the county jurisdiction of Eureka.
Deputies contacted two subjects inside the vehicle. The passenger of the vehicle, 36-year-old Anthony James Pollette of Redway, gave deputies a false name, the HCSO said. Deputies requested Pollette exit the vehicle and detained him while continuing to investigate. While detained, Pollette attempted to flee from deputies on foot, according to the sheriff's office.
Pollette was taken into custody and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on three felony warrants for battery on an emergency responder, resisting arrest, evading a peace officer and criminal threats. Pollette was also booked on fresh charges of possession of a billy club, false identification to a peace officer, resisting arrest, possession of a narcotic controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and revocation of probation. His bail is set at $125,000.
The driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Kayla Austin of Redway, was cited and released on misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
