Stolen property linked to multiple burglaries located during Orleans SWAT operation
ORLEANS, Calif. —
On Dec. 4, 2018, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team arrested two individuals at a property near Ferris Ranch Road in Orleans. Police were trying to locate a suspect known to be armed and dangerous and also search for possible stolen property associated with recent burglaries.
After the SWAT team's conducted operation, officials say Curtis Dalme McCovey, 42, and Antonio Ramone Escalderon, 20, were arrested without incident.
Authorities said they found four loaded firearms, two that were reported as stolen, a motorcycle reported stolen out of Siskiyou County and several other items of stolen property related to multiple area burglaries.
McCovey was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on multiple charges, including possession of stolen property, felon in possession of a firearm, prohibited person in possession of ammunition and a warrant for possession of metal knuckles. His bail is set at $60,000.
Escalderon was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.
