USGS: 2 earthquakes strike off North Coast early Monday morning

Two small earthquakes struck off of the North Coast early Monday morning: A 3.2 magnitude followed by a 3.1 magnitude about 30 minutes later, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

First, a 3.2 magnitude quake hit at 1:15 a.m., 31 miles west of Crescent City at a depth of 8.4 miles, according to the USGS. Then, a 3.1 quake struck 156 miles west of Ferndale at a depth of 6.2 miles.

There are no tsunami warnings or advisories in effect as a result of these earthquakes.
