CIF Highlights and reaction: PVHS boys top Notre Dame 70-65
SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
The Pleasant Valley High School boy's basketball team won against Notre Dame 70-65 in the Division III State Finals, on Saturday.
The game tipped off at 4 p.m. and Pleasant Valley quickly took the lead and held onto it throughout the game, while it stayed close.
At the half, the Vikings led 32-28 against Notre Dame while shooting 48 percent from the floor.
The game was close, but Notre Dame was simply unable to eke out those extra points.
This is the first CIF title for the Pleasant Valley boys, who finished the season 32-2. Kevin Kremer led all players with 28 points and 13 rebounds.
The Pleasant Valley girls team lost in their state title game earlier in the day, 57-42 to Redondo Union. Senior Sirena Tuitele ended her Vikings career with 21 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocked shots and 2 steals as PVHS finishes the season 25-5.
