Chico takes down PV in Almond Bowl


    Chico (8-1) won the annual Almond Bowl game Friday night in their new campus stadium, 17-10,, over arch-rival Pleasant Valley (6-3).

    Chico finishes its regular season against Foothill while PV wraps up its regular season against red hot Paradise, which beat Chico earlier in the season.

    Paradise (8-1) captured an easy an easy 56-21 win over Enterprise (1-8) on the road. A first round bye in the Division-II playoffs will be on the line when Paradise takes on Pleasant Valley next Friday.

    Meanwhile quarterback Jayden Gordon enjoyed another stellar game for Foothill (5-4) which topped Shasta (3-6) at home, 49-20.

    In a near upset Big Valley (9-0) almost saw its undefeated season come to an end, rallying from a 20-0 deficit to beat Redding Christian (6-4), 27-20 , in Class-VI 8-man football.
