Oroville, U-Prep and West Valley post impressive wins

On a Friday night challenged by smoky conditions in the Northstate, a few local schools posted impressive wins.

Oroville outlasted Corning, 46-37 at Harrison Stadium. The Tigers are now 2-0, while Corning is 1-2.

University Prep had to move their home game to Foothill High School's stadium in Palo Cedro due to poor air quality in Redding. The Panthers, 2-1, looked right at home defeating Clear Lake, 15-0.

Playing at home in Cottonwood, West Valley's defense shut down Red Bluff, 41-0. The Eagles are now 2-1, while the Spartans fell to 0-3.

Other highlighted games saw Eureka run past Foothill, 62-14 in Humboldt County. The Loggers will visit Shasta High School next week. The Wolves (1-1) fell on the road at Elk Grove, 46-7. Redding Christian was also at home in Palo Cedro. The Lions (1-2) fell to visiting Princeton, 42-27.
