Paradise wins nailbiter over Shasta to improve to 6-1

Paradise (6-1) avoided a letdown after beating previously undefeated Chico a week ago by topping Shasta (2-5), 10-7, Friday night on their home turf.

Chico (7-1) rebounded from their loss to Paradise by dominating Red Bluff (1-7) at home, 46-21.

Chico has next Friday off, giving them two weeks to prepare for the Almond Bowl against arch rival Pleasant Valley on October 26.

Enterprise (1-6) lost to Foothill (4-3) at home, , 42-28, and will play Shasta next Friday night in the annual River Bowl game.

West Valley (6-1), one of the hottest teams in the Northern Section, captured its fifth straight victory by scoring a 48-6 win over Yreka (1-5).
