PV, Chico roll in regular season finales, playoff byes in the air
CHICO, Calif. —
Pleasant Valley toppled Paradise, 38-6, Friday night at Chico High Stadium while Chico High crushed Foothill, 42-7, on the road.
Friday's results leave Pleasant Valley, Chico and Paradise with identical 5-1 records in the Eastern Athletic League (EAL). It will be left to the Northern Section of the CIF on Saturday to determine which two of those three teams will receive first round byes in the 6-team Division II playoffs.
In other Division II action Red Bluff scored a 28-21 victory over Enterprise to secure the sixth seed. Neither team came into the game with an EAL victory. Las Plumas would have received the birth but lost its Victory Bell game with arch-rival Oroville High School , 41-6.
Also Friday night West Valley rolled to another victory, beating Central Valley, 49-0, to run its record to 9-1 entering the Division-III playoffs.
