The Chico Panthers remain unbeaten, winning again in their new home stadium, and the Anderson Cubs outlasted Oroville to hand the Tigers their first defeat.

Chico, holding a homecoming celebration at their own campus stadium for the first time since 1952, improved to 3-0 on the season as they held down Sutter, 17-7.

Anderson, with running back Parker Phillips back in the lineup after a one game suspension, ran past Oroville, 56-26. The Cubs are 2-1, and Oroville is now 2-1.

On the ridge in Paradise, West Valley's Bailey Sulzer came up with a pair of big scores in a 19-13 win. The Eagles are 3-1, while the Bobcats are 2-1.

Redding Christian (2-2) amassed more than 500 yards of total offense as they held off an under-manned but hard fighting Hayfork team, 43-14.

Shasta fell to 1-2 as Eureka's powerful passing attack was too much for the Wolves. Playing most of the game without injured star back James Weaver, Shasta struggled to get their vaunted ground attack moving, as the Loggers remain unbeaten (5-0) with the 35-14 win in Redding.

In the night's other highlighted game, the Colusa Redhawks (3-1) rallied past U-Prep , 35-7. The Panthers fall to 2-2 on the season.

Xtra Point airs Friday nights on KRCR News Channel 7.
