A Northstate native, Courtney Kreider was born and raised in a log cabin in Viola, California. She earned her bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice at California State University, Chico.
Courtney has been working as a one man band reporter for almost two years at KRCR.
The story she will never forget was very early on as a journalist when a man came into the KRCR newsroom and admitted to a 25-year-old murder. She bought him a Pepsi, and he poured out his story before turning himself into law enforcement.
Living in the Northstate, Courtney has been a part of nature's deadly wrath of California wildfires.
In 2018 Courtney was on the fire lines for the Carr Fire in Shasta and Trinity Counties and the Camp Fire in Butte County.
She took pride being a voice of information for her community during these difficult times.
In her free time, Courtney enjoys mountain biking, country music concerts and weekend getaways to wine country.
